2. Marbachalmen Flachauwinkl

beautiful walk and bike tour along a rushing stream into the alpine pastures to rustic huts. By car to Flachauwinkl, after the lift stations about 4km further, on the right is the forest barrier and on the left is the car park; park the car and hike to the Marbachalm. Time plan about 3 hours (hike one way about 1 hour)
Tip: try Kaiserschmarren at “Hansi” (2nd hut)

3. Jägersee in Kleinarl

Beautiful natural lake with crystal clear water to walk around
By car via Wagrain and Kleinarl to the car park, from there a 1/2 hour circular walk

4. Tappenkarsee in Kleinarl

one of the most beautiful hikes/excursions; beautiful mountain lake surrounded by peaks; waterfalls along the hiking trail; possibility to stop off in 2 huts By car via Wagrain to Kleinarl to the Jägersee, it is important to drive further there to the Schwabalm/Tappenkarsee car park; from there a hike of around 2 hours (nice hiking trail); on the way back, you may want to stop at the Jägersee Time planning total at least 5 hours to 1 day (only if the weather is good)
Tip: drive by car to the end of the gravel road “Schwabalm car park” and only start the hike from there

5. Hofalmen Filzmoos

very beautiful alpine pasture area, with a view of the Bischofsmütze, chapel, alpine flower trail, small natural lake. By car to Filzmoos. (30min), at the roundabout towards Hofalmen, via a toll road (fee required) you reach the alpine pastures in about 15min, or you can leave the car in front of the toll station and walk along the river to the Hofalmen. Walking time is about 1 hour!
Tip: Hike to the Sulzenalmen (fantastic view from the Wallehenhütte)

6. Rossbrand Radstadt

one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Eastern Alps (over 150 mountain peaks) by car to Radstadt, at the bypass road there is a green sign on the right saying “Rossbrand” (12 km toll-free), at the top a short hike to the summit cross (approx. 15 minutes walking time) total time planning at least 2 hours
Tip: highly recommended; only in good weather due to the visibility

 

7. Liechtensteinklamm in St. Johann

one of the deepest and longest gorges in the Alps with many roaring waterfalls, about 20 minutes away by car. The gorge is about 1.5km long, the walk there and back takes about 1.5 hours, there are 440 steps and 100 meters of elevation to master, not suitable for strollers, a jacket is recommended.
Tip: plan your visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid long waiting times. Wear good shoes because it will get wet; also possible in bad weather, definitely book in advance

8. Erlebnisrundwanderweg Alles Alm

Circular path suitable for strollers with theme stations (rustic huts and Johannes waterfall) with the impressive backdrop of the Radstädter Tauern. Play stations to romp around in: balancing on the oversized rake and scythe, visiting the marmot family in the marble burrow, proving your skills on the cow-spot jumping mile, exploring the giant cow at the alpine water playground and much more. Mighty Johannes waterfall. Only 30 minutes’ drive away.
Tip: for the brave, it is a special experience to walk behind the waterfall (path)

9. Wild- und Freizeitpark Untertauern

ocal wildlife, fish ponds, petting zoo, playground. Approximately 11 hectare park with 40 wild animals (deer, roe deer, geese, ponies and mouflons). For kids: own fish pond, stilt house, playground, petting zoo. A wide variety of small animals “live” there, such as rabbits, chickens, ducks, beavers, goats and llamas. At the “Fürstenbrunn” pond complex, young and old can catch their own fish (brown trout, char, rainbow and salmon trout, carp). All with free admission!

10. Sattelbauer / Lackenalmen / Lackenkogel Flachau

beautiful panoramic alpine pastures and a great summit experience by car to the Sattelbauer, from there the marked path to the Lackenalmen approx. 1 hour (possibility for a stop), another hour (a little steeper) to the Lackenkogel, time planning: ½ day, total walking time: 4 hours
Tip: cheese bread at the Hinterkuchelberghütte, stop at the Sattelbauer (known for traditional dishes)

11. Soccergolf

A combination of the sport of soccer and golf, for young and old – fun is guaranteed Soccergolf is a fun mix of golf, minigolf and soccer. You try to get a soccer ball into a goal. The goal is to make as few shots as possible. The targets vary from holes in the ground or in a wooden wall to nets or higher targets, such as a well trough. The soccer park is located directly at the valley station of the “Red 8er” gondola. Only 5 minutes by car from Flachau.
Tip: visit outside of peak times, otherwise there could be longer waiting times

12. Wagrainer Alm

Alm with a beautiful view and fish pond, accessible via the mountain path or Öbristweg The cozy Alm in the mountains of Wagrain can be reached via two routes. Either via the mountain path (from the car park approx. 30 minutes) or from the Öbristweg past the Lackenkapelle (approx. 1 hour) to the Alm. A small fish pond, a children’s playground and a terrace with a fantastic view from Wagrain to Kleinarl await you.

15. Eisriesenwelt in Werfen

largest ice cave in the world; there are numerous stairs in the cave; book your ticket online in advance. Travel time from Flachau approx. 30 minutes, take the gondola from the car park, from there it’s a 30-minute hike to the entrance of the ice cave. Plan at least half a day; there are 1400 steps to climb in the cave.
Tip: take warm clothing including a hat with you even in midsummer (tour in the cave takes approx. 1 hour)

21. Lammerklamm

Roaring floods, steep rock faces, deep gorges and impressive views. Secured paths and trails lead the whole family safely through the impressive gorge in the heart of the Tennengau. The hike there and back to the starting point takes around an hour. The highlight of the hike is undoubtedly the Dark Gorge. This is probably the most beautiful part of the gorge – it is located right at the entrance! Access via the Lammertal (St. Martin-Annaberg-Abtenau) and back via the A10 Tauern motorway, journey time approx. 1 hour.
